GPS Magellan roadMate 5235 VS my older Magellan Model 1212 GPS
The RoadMate 5235T-LM has life time traffic and map update (T-LM) so I can update the lifetime maps for free. I can change the display to show Direction, Speed, Elevation or Time, when not routed and Direction, ETA, Speed, Remaining, Elevation when routed. It is more difficult to switch information views on the display if you are driving. (My old Magellan Roadmate I would Press once and change the view, pressed multiple times to get the desired Info)
The more I play with this new Magellan RoadMate 5235T-LM GPS the more I like it.
The speed reminder can let you know you are speeding saving you a ticket. The posted speed is displayed right on the GPS screen. I can switch the display view to 2D and 3D
With the traffic alerts on the GPS I can try to avoid it.
on the display (easy) without going into the settings.
When a change the route (on the fly) it shows the ETA for Fastest time, Shortest Distance, Mostly Freeways, Least freeways.
I can save the current Latitude and Longitude of my current location or route to a location.
The points of interest shows up as easy to read Icons and buttons.
The GPS has fifteen easy to press One Touch buttons to your Favorite Location or a search Category.
A search on the GPS for a category shows the distance and direction from the current location.
(ABC coffee shop 1 mile Forward) You can search near city, Near address, Along route, Near destination.
Speed warnings warn if driving over speed limit (setting from 5MPH -30MPH over Speed limit)
The other day I was driving with the Magellan GPS and it warned me of the red light traffic camera.
The Magellan GPS could save you over $300 dollars in red light camera tickets.
I would rate this great GPS System. I also have had Garmins they have nice. my favorite Magellan GPS Features is you choice the fastest,Time, least use or most use of freeways, or shortest distance.
